I just can't help but salivate as I started to pound my keyboard here about our favorite Sta Rosa Restaurants. I encourage you at the end of this post to add yours. Again, it is a matter of taste or maybe of province where you grew up...our tastes buds are wired differently. What is an absolute fave Sta Rosa restaurant for me may not be for you.Still, let me show some of the smorgasbord of food and different cuisines you'll find scattered in different malls and corners here in Santa Rosa City...now beginning to be your city, right? Common Let's Eat! Gutom lang iyan =) Conti's Pastry Shop and Restaurant - Located at Solenad in Nuvali. It serves good pasta although this is not an Italian restaurant. Started in 1997 and managed by three sisters surnamed Conti, this Sta Rosa restaurant features an eclectic mix of Filipino, European (the lengua estofada and calamari are winners) and a few Japanese dishes, along with sumptuous pastries and desserts, the house specialty. Our favorite there is the Mango Bravo Cake and Mango Tart. The Baked Salmon , whew!sarap. Every meal there is quite an experience and I am looking forward to coming back for more. Shakey's Paseo de Santa Rosa - The Pizza That Started it All™. Sherwood “Shakey” Johnson loved ragtime music. He dreamed about having a place where his family and friends could get together, share some pizza and beer while listening - and often singing along – to favorite ragtime standards. So back in 1954 he scraped together his savings and opened the first Shakey’s Pizza Parlor & Ye Public House® at the corner of 57th and J Street in Sacramento CA. There was nothing like it. People came from all over to enjoy the original thin crust pizza, ice cold beer on tap and most of all, the fun, family friendly atmosphere. Located in Paseo de Santa Rosa at the corner of once used to be the place of the country market. There is also a Shakey's Pizza available at SM Santa Rosa, just maybe the ambiance or the bigger space at Paseo makes this one of better Sta Rosa restaurants. Have lost count of the number of times we have been to this Pizza house. I highly recommend this for blow out for big groups especially of children. My only complaint, the Funzone like a Tom's world kind of play area is a pain in the...pockets especially of parents. The tokens are 10 pesos a piece.Be ready to shell out at least P500 if you have kids like mine who can't get enough of the limited games available there like driving arcade game and basketball shoot out. Starbuck's Coffee - has always been the place to find the world’s best coffees. But in 1971, you would have had to travel all the way to their first - and at that time, only - store in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. Santa Rosan's Coffee Drinkers are lucky because we already have two stores located here. One located in Paseo and the other one sit in front corner of Nuvali. Now with more than 15,000 store locations worlwide this Coffee Shop has really gone a long way. We Filipinos re-discovered our love for coffee through this company.Of course we patronize our homebrewed coffee's like Kapeng Barako,Figarro by Chit Juan and others who offers franchise opportunities as well, for me and others will agree that nobody nobody but ( raise your right leg and point your two hands to anybody in front )...Starbucks! gives the whole Coffee drinking experience period. Just refrain from pretending somebody you are not like ordering a cup of coffee with an English twang - " I would like to have a Cup of Chino please." =) Another frap here please...
